Week 7

This week has been a great build- up to Christmas, with the Christmas lunch on Wednesday and the Carol service on Thursday! We were very proud to see members of Eagles playing in the orchestra and singing in the choir.
We returned to our work on perimeter from earlier in the term and investigated using non-standard units to measure the perimeter of shapes - some proved more accurate than others!
In Games, we learnt how to ‘dig’ a volleyball, before practising deciding whether to use a ‘dig’ or a ‘set’ when the ball came our way.

In Literacy, we studied the poem ‘Talking Turkeys’ by Benjamin Zephaniah. The children explored the beliefs of the author before writing tweets in role as a turkey hoping to be saved this Christmas.

Tuesday afternoon became very creative! Some children finished their Greek temple art using card and art straws while others made their biscuit products for our DT project this term.
